What are the rules on skateboarding in Anaheim, California?

my cl is going to Anaheim California and my teacher thinks i'll get in trouble if i ride my skateboard from place to place instead of walking. i also plan to hit up a skatepark or two and maybe find a parking lot to session. i'm pretty sure i am allowed to skateboard in Anaheim because California has the biggest skate scene in america. so what are the rules there?
