I have sport day tomorrow, and I'm runnig 1500 metres for long distance.?

Would it be better if I ran fast or normal at the beginning . If I run fast in the beginning i'l be ahead of every one but later on I'll get tired but if i run normally ppl will get in front of me and it may be hard to catch uo. What should I do?
