I have heard (more than twice now) that there is more oil in canada than saudia arabia?

When the barrels of oil started going up to nearly 100$$, i was watching various news channels (pretty much all of them) and i heard from two different ones that canada has more oil than than saudia arabia. I was wondering if this was true or just an exaggeration. if it is true than why do we continue making the religious extremists in saudi arabia rich? I find it disgraceful to be getting oil from relgious zealots in the first place and if we could get the oil from canada, an ally and democracy, than i think we need to rethink some things.
